"Beyond Nuclear Deterrence" Post-event at the 63rd Pugwash Conference in Hiroshima
The international situation surrounding nuclear weapons is extremely grave, marked by threats backed by nuclear arsenals, rapid nuclear force expansion, and heightened tensions among nuclear-armed states. Under the circumstance, we held a public symposium on November 5th, the final day of the Pugwash Conference, to discuss the dangers of relying on nuclear deterrence and how to transition to security that does not rely on it.
We were honored to welcome two distinguished scientists who have long been active globally in the field of nuclear disarmament, including through the Pugwash Conferences.
