Thank you for your cooperation at the G7 Hiroshima Summit.
The G7 Hiroshima Summit, held for three days from May 19 to 21, ended successfully.
To all citizens and related parties concerned, I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude for your generous support and cooperation at the G7 Summit.
It was the first G7 Summit held in an atomic-bombed city. The world leaders who assembled in Hiroshima, a city that has revived from the ashes of nuclear destruction, engaged in earnest talks. I believe this very fact has delivered a powerful message of peace to the world.
To ensure the success of the G7 Summit, all residents of Hiroshima worked together to extend warm hospitality to visitors to Hiroshima. This, I believe, resulted in increasing fans of Hiroshima all over the world.
Hosting the G7 Summit provided us, the citizens of Hiroshima Prefecture, with an opportunity to rediscover the charms of Hiroshima, which we can proudly present to the world. One of the greatest outcomes of hosting the G7 Summit is that it has evoked once again the citizens’ pride in and affection for Hiroshima.
Leveraging the valuable experience that we have gained by hosting the G7 Summit, we will continue to promote the attractiveness of Hiroshima, along with its message of peace.
Finally, I would like to sincerely request your continued support and cooperation.
YUZAKI Hidehiko, Chairman of the Citizens Council for the Hiroshima Summit,
Governor of Hiroshima Prefecture
