Open Learning Course of Hiroshima-ICAN Academy 2024
Hiroshima Prefecture and the International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons (ICAN) have since 2019 together organized the Hiroshima-ICAN Academy on Nuclear Weapons and Global Security (hereafter referred to as "the Academy"). The Academy aims to nurture global leaders who can make concrete contributions towards a more peaceful and secure world.
Following last year, the Academy will offer an Open Learning Course to provide more people with the opportunity to learn online about nuclear weapons and global security.
This Open Learning Course will be available for anyone with an interest in nuclear weapons and global security. Those who pass the given assignment will receive a certificate from the organizers.
Course Details
Dates: Monday, February 17 - Monday, March 31, 2025
Participants: Anyone who has an interest in the Academy. Places are not limited.
Assignment: After reading and watching the required online learning materials, answer an online quiz consisting of single-choice questions and write a reflection.
Materials: Required readings and videos are listed at the bottom of this page.
Assignment Submission Form: Available on Google Forms here.
If you reside in a country/region with limited access to google services, please download the form in Microsoft Word format here (Wordファイル)(22KB), and submit it to chiheiwa@pref.hiroshima.lg.jp by email.
Course fee: Free
Certificate: The "Hiroshima-ICAN Academy 2024 Open Learning Course Certificate" will be presented to participants upon passing the assignment. Up to one month may be required for the certificate to be sent via email by organizers.
