日本被団協 ノーベル平和賞授賞式を受けての知事コメント
令和６（2024）年12月10日にオスロで開催された、ノーベル平和賞授賞式を受けた広島県知事のコメントは次のとおりです。
知事コメント
本日、オスロで開催された授賞式において、日本原水爆被害者団体協議会（日本被団協）がノーベル平和賞を受賞されたことを、広島県民を代表して心からお祝い申し上げます。
日本被団協の皆さまは、長きにわたり、被爆の実相を世界に伝え、核兵器の非人道性を訴え続けてこられました。
その活動は、今日「核のタブー」として知られる、核兵器が二度と使われてはならないとする国際規範の確立に、極めて重要な貢献をされました。
この度の受賞は、その努力が国際社会に広く認められた結果であり、日本被団協の皆さまの不屈の精神と弛ゆまぬ取組に対する、深い敬意の表れだと受け止めています。
それと同時に、今回のノーベル平和賞は、国際社会への大いなる警鐘でもあります。ロシアによるウクライナ侵略の長期化や、中東情勢の悪化など、国際社会は大変厳しい状況にあり、私たちは、深刻な核兵器使用リスクに直面し、「核のタブー」は、風前の灯のように大きく揺らいでいます。
日本被団協のノーベル平和賞受賞が、必ずやこの「核のタブー」の火を絶やすことなく、国際社会における核兵器廃絶に向けた取組への力強い後押しになると確信しています。
私たち広島県も、今回の受賞によって勢いを増す核兵器廃絶への機運を捉えて、被爆80年となる2025年に、核兵器のない平和な世界の実現に向けた取組を大きく進めてまいります。
おわりに、平和の実現に向けて不断の努力を続けてこられた日本被団協の皆さま、被爆者の皆さま、そして、道半ばにしてお亡くなりになられた関係者の皆さまに、改めて深く敬意を表するとともに、心から感謝申し上げます。

The Governor's Statement on the Japan Confederation of A-and H-bomb sufferers Organization's (Nihon-Hidankyo) receiving the Nobel Peace Prize in Oslo is as follows:

On behalf of the citizens of Hiroshima Prefecture, I would like to extend my heartfelt congratulations on the Japan Confederation of A- and H-Bomb Sufferers Organizations (Nihon Hidankyo) being awarded the Nobel Peace Prize at the ceremony held today in Oslo.
For many decades, Nihon Hidankyo has tirelessly shared the realities of the atomic bombings with the world and consistently appealed to the inhumane nature of nuclear weapons.
Their efforts have made a vital contribution to establishing the international norm known today as the "nuclear taboo," which underscores the principle that nuclear weapons must never be used again.
This prestigious award is the result of the broad recognition of those efforts and a profound expression of the deep respect by the international community to Nihon Hidankyo's indomitable spirit and unwavering commitment.
At the same time, this Nobel Peace Prize serves as a resounding alarm to the world. The prolonged invasion of Ukraine by Russia, the worsening situation in the Middle East, and other global challenges have brought about an extraordinarily dire international climate. We now face a severe risk of nuclear weapons being used, and the "nuclear taboo" stands precariously, like a flickering candle in the wind.
I am confident that Nihon Hidankyo's receipt of the Nobel Peace Prize will undoubtedly reinforce the "nuclear taboo" and provide powerful momentum to international efforts toward the abolition of nuclear weapons.
Inspired by this award, we, Hiroshima Prefecture, are committed to seizing this opportunity to advance the momentum toward nuclear disarmament. As we approach 2025, marking 80 years since the atomic bombings, we will work steadfastly toward realizing a peaceful world free of nuclear weapons.
In closing, I would like to once again express my deepest respect and gratitude to all members of Nihon Hidankyo, the hibakusha, and the many individuals who dedicated their lives to this cause but sadly passed away before seeing this achievement.
