Located in Kumano Town, the nation's largest producer of writing brushes, this facility holds exhibitions on literature and brush culture, and is positioned as a center for the creation of regional culture.
The low-rise building blends in with the surrounding environment, taking advantage of the difference in elevation of the site, and is designed to resemble the four treasures of writing (brush, ink stick, ink stone, and Japanese paper). It has a participatory design with a brush-making demonstration corner and a brush-related library.
