This shopping complex is located on the Hondori shopping street (former Saigoku Kaido), a busy shopping street in Hiroshima City. Originally built as a bank, it was damaged by the atomic bombing, but was restored and converted into a bakery-restaurant complex, which was innovative at the time. The building was further expanded to the present day.
The part facing the main street is the only surviving A-bombed building in the main street area. Although the colonnade at the main entrance has been removed, the building retains its Renaissance-style features such as symmetrical, rectangular windows and round arches, which give it a sense of history and dignity.
