This hall stands perched on a rocky outcrop at the tip of the Numakuma Peninsula. The present building, which is said to have been constructed between the Muromachi and Edo periods, is based on the Japanese style, but features Tang-style architecture of continental origin in the kumimono (joinery) and wooden nose. Inside, the coffered ceiling is painted in rich colors by Fujii Shorin (late Edo period painter) with a picture of a hundred flowers. The building, which makes full use of the precipitous cliffs, shows the wisdom of our ancestors, and at the same time, the magnificent view is very impressive.
