Flyer

We have cancelled the symposium due to the approach of typhoon Cimaron. We truly regret to inconvenience all those who planned to participate, but we would like to ask for your understanding under the circumstances.

On June 12th, the first ever America-North Korea summit was held, and the two heads of state signed a joint statement agreeing to work towards complete denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula. Since then, the issue of how to actually go about denuclearizing the peninsula has drawn great attention.  At this symposium, nuclear and international security experts will gather for the Hiroshima Round Table to exchange ideas about how to create a world without nuclear weapons.  Please join us to think about how to realize a nuclear weapons-free world.

What is Hiroshima Round Table?
Hiroshima Prefecture organizes this symposium to gather the countries of East Asia to discuss concrete steps towards nuclear disarmament and arms control in the region as part of the "Supporting the Roadmap for Abolition of Nuclear Weapons" agenda in the 2011 "Hiroshima for Global Peace Plan". Nuclear abolition and international relations experts from Japan, Australia, China, Korea, America, and other countries have attended previous symposiums, and this year marks the sixth year of the Hiroshima Round Table.
